The end of the semester has been such a whirlwind of activity that I haven’t had much time to reflect on the incredible year we’ve had. Once again, this community accomplished great things across our research, education and outreach mission. It’s been such a privilege to have a front-row seat to all the wonderful work happening across the college in my role as interim dean.
With that, I have a few updates as we wrap up the academic year. The college awarded 2023 DEIJ microgrants. I’m struck by the breadth of activity across the college and look forward to seeing these efforts come to fruition in the year to come.
This week and next, dean candidates will be on campus for public interviews. I encourage everyone to participate in the process. Information about each candidate will be available a day ahead of their public interview, with names and CVs posted on the CBS dean search webpage. Attend the interviews if you are able and provide feedback on candidates.
Of course, we also say farewell to the class of 2023 this weekend. It’s always bittersweet to see them go, but hearing them talk about their CBS experience and how it has shaped their lives is incredibly inspiring. Check out this year’s CBS commencement video to hear from a few of our our graduating seniors.
Finally, I want to say a heartfelt thank you. Stepping into the role of interim dean involved a learning curve, but I feel fortunate that I was surrounded by people who are dedicated to this college and willing to share their expertise and knowledge with me.
