I am currently a pharmacist at Hennepin County Medical Center.
What is your fondest memory of being in CBS?
I loved the community and camaraderie and being among like-minded people!
How did you become interested in this field of work?
I started working as a pharmacy technician at Walgreen’s during my junior year of undergrad and ended up falling in love with the career there! I have worked in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings throughout my pharmacy career, but most recently work as a Transitions of Care and decentralized pharmacist at HCMC and absolutely love my job!
What do you enjoy doing when you aren't studying?

Personally, I got married, have one kiddo and another on the way, and a dog who I adore! Professionally, I graduated two years of residency and got board-certified in pharmacotherapy!
Is there anything you learned from the Dean’s Scholars Program that you continue to utilize or reflect back on in your personal or professional life?
Dean’s Scholars was my first exposure to leadership and I credit this program with my love for leadership and service of others!
Did you face any challenges during your undergraduate career and how did you overcome them?
Plenty! It was a time filled with lots of adjustments and growth. I learned to ask lots of questions, ask for help when I couldn’t figure something out on my own, and really try to slow down and enjoy the things that were happening around me. I was quite used to getting by on my own during high school, so I definitely learned the importance of community during my undergraduate career.
Do you have any advice for current students about continuing on their path or advice for life after graduation?
Do plenty of research, ask lots of questions, and try to make informed decisions! And don’t sweat the small stuff because you have your whole life to settle into your career and your life. If you need to take a year off to breathe and figure out what you want to do, there is no rush and you certainly can! And when it gets hard, try to focus on the end goal and the reason you are pursuing your goals. But, at the same time, try to look around and enjoy all that life has to offer!
