Life before CBS…
I am a proud CBS alumnus! In addition, my first job in higher education was in CBS as an Admissions Counselor. I have also worked in a variety of offices and positions across the University, including One Stop Student Services, CLA Academic Advising, and the Pre-Health Student Resource Center. After so many stops around the U, serving as the Associate Director of Career Readiness in CBS feels like a homecoming for me! 

Adjusting to college life…
Find your people! Be okay with putting yourself in uncomfortable situations, knowing you have the chance to meet new people and experience new things. Putting yourself out there will allow you to connect with others. Through those connections, you will eventually find the people who will become lifelong friends, mentors, and others who will help shape your journey through college and beyond.

Favorite part of the job?
Celebrating student achievements, big or small! Being able to play a role in helping students navigate through their career journey is highly rewarding. There are sometimes small but important steps that occur along the way, like figuring out a new interest or landing a new experience. And there are big achievements that are years in the making, like landing a first job after graduation or getting into a graduate/professional school program. Every experience can play a role in your success as a student, and it’s great to recognize these accomplishments along the way.

Current passions, hobbies, things that give you joy?
Spending time with my family – my partner and I have two kids and a dog. Both of my kids are hockey players, and I have coached most of their teams as they have progressed over the years. I am also a DIYer and enjoy fixing and updating pretty much anything in my home. In most cases, I will try to fix something or tackle a project first, knowing there will be mistakes or imperfections along the way. It’s all part of the learning process!

Be on the lookout for…
I am very passionate about Gopher sports! Although I don’t get to as many games these days, I still follow and support our teams closely and will always be a fan of the maroon and gold!
