Danielson Blake Family Scholarship (#8640)
This fund supports a need-based scholarship award of $2,000 for five years to an undergraduate student studying biochemistry.
Juliamarie Andreen Grilly Undergraduate Research Scholarship in Molecular Biology (#1052)
Edward Grilly created this fund in 2006 according to the wishes of his late wife Juliamarie. It supports students conducting undergraduate research in the field of molecular biology, who are selected by the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biophysics, and the College of Biological Sciences.
Luchsinger Scholarship Fund (#1190)
Sadie and Wayne Luchsinger created this fund in 2006. It supports new students in the College of Biological Sciences, and is primarily intended for biochemistry students who show academic promise. The fund has been approved for the President’s Scholarship Match Program.
Dr. Wallace D. Armstrong + Dr. Venkateswarlu Pothapragada Graduate Fellowship (#1203)
Dr. Venkateswarlu Pothapragada established this fellowship in honor of Wallace Armstrong in 2006. It supports graduate students in the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biophysics in the College of Biological Sciences.
Arnold H. Johnson Biochemistry Fellowship (#3148)
In 1991, this fund was established through the Arnold H. Johnson Trust. This fellowship is used to provide full support to a doctoral student in the University’s biochemistry program at the College of Biological Sciences.
Richard C. Nelson Endowed Scholarship for Biochemistry (#4151)
This fund is used to provide scholarships for students majoring in Biochemistry.
Henrietta Novy Miller Award (#4180)
This fund supports scholarships in recognition of academic and research accomplishments of Biochemistry undergraduates.
L.M. Henderson Award (#4181)
This is a scholarship in recognition of academic and research accomplishments of Biochemistry undergraduates. Recipients are selected based on high academic performance and demonstrated professional development, usually through undergraduate research activity.
Ross A. Gortner Fellowship (#4254)
This fund was established by former students in honor of the late Dr. Ross Gortner, who chaired the agricultural biochemistry department from 1917 to 1942. Gortner Labs, built in 1967 on the St. Paul campus, also was named in his honor.
Huber Warner Fellowship in Molecular Biology (#4366)
This fund was created in 2008 by Huber Warner to support graduate students in the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biophysics. Preference is given to students who are focused on research on basic mechanisms of aging.
Paul D. Boyer and James B. Peter Postdoctoral Award in Biochemistry (#4520)
This award is based on quantity and quality of scholarly publications, and is granted to candidates in the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biophysics who are nominated by faculty research advisors.
Thomas S. Reid Award for Biochemistry (#4563)
This fund provides a graduate student award for innovation and creativity in Biochemistry.
Victor A. Bloomfield Graduate Fellowship (#5148)
Professor Victor Bloomfield, longtime U of M faculty member, established this fellowship to help attract and retain talented graduate students who are conducting research in structural biology or biophysics.
Thomas Reid Graduate Fellowship in BMBB (#5459)
This fund was created to attract and retain highly talented students to the BMBB graduate program. Preference is giving to to students with broad experience in the chemical sciences.
