Eligibility for the CBS Passport Program include:

Preference is given to students who:

Demonstrate financial need by having an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of $15,000 or less for the previous or current academic year on the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
- To determine your EFC you will need to access your Financial Aid Summary on MyU (instructions HERE, and then click "Financial Aid Summary" to view EFC). If selected for an award, documentation of your financial aid eligibility will be requested.
Plan to participate in a learning abroad program during their undergraduate career at the University of Minnesota
Freshman or Sophomore class standing
Are President’s Emerging Scholars participants

September 9, 2024: Application opens for interested students wanting to apply.

October 18, 2024: Application deadline. Late applications will not be considered.

October 25, 2024: Students will be notified of their acceptance status by this date. Accepted students will receive detailed instructions.

October 26-November 15, 2024: Accepted students must complete the following steps:

Attend an online or in-person First Step Session through the Learning Abroad Center
Schedule a general learning abroad advising appointment
Schedule a document verification appointment with learning abroad program adviser
Schedule a meeting with the UMN Passport Office for an (optional) passport photo and to submit the passport application
